STONEHAVEN ICELANDICS About our horses Stonehaven Icelandics is one of the oldest Icelandic horse studs in the United Kingdom and is unique in breadth and depth of experience. The stud is owned and managed by Clive and Liz Phillips, both of whom have wide experience in Icelandics and other equestrian disciplines.
We believe that the results of this breeding programme is producing an exciting group of quality horses to be enjoyed by our customers, family and friends. In some cases the horses are fifth generation of selected breeding of the best of homebred and imported horses. Stonehaven Icelandics have supplied horses to private owners and riding centres throughout the country and many of these horses have gained respected reputations in their own right. We usually have a select group of horses in training or youngstock for sale at anyone time. In addition we stock and supply the Hrimnir saddle which is a saddle especially designed for the Icelandic horse. See our page on Saddles, bridles and equipment. From time to time special offers on saddles are available, or a used or ex-demonstrator Hrimnir saddle may be for sale, so please ask for details. We can also advise on bridles and other equipment and assist you in sourcing these from UK or Icelandic retailers. |

Stonehaven Icelandics
offers the opportunity to purchase good quality home bred Icelandic
horses from quality stock with a known background. The stud
maintains a herd of brood mares many of whom have been judged and proved
themselves in their own right. These mares are drawn from a
variety of sources representing some of the best of homebred and imported
bloodlines. Various stallions have been used over the years as
part of a continuous programme of improvement and selection. The
youngstock are allowed to mature and develop in a very natural environment
before starting careful and experienced training.
