STONEHAVEN ICELANDICS

Sales and Prices

At Stonehaven Icelandics we breed horses for family, friends and customers.  We are passionately interested in breeding and training Icelandic horses and inevitably we can't keep them all!  We get a lot of pleasure from seeing horses that we have sold doing well with their new owners.

As a rule of thumb, Icelandic horses born in this country usually sell at around £2,500 to £3,500 depending on type, size, training etc.  This takes account of the cost of the breeding stock, bringing up the youngsters and training.  Imported horses are usually in the range of  £3,500 to £4,500 because of the additional importation costs.  Horses with competition experience, breeding potential or special bloodlines may cost considerably more.  Some stallions in Iceland have been syndicated for a paper value close to £500,000!

At Stonehaven Icelandics we would like our horses to be affordable, accessible and to go to good homes.  As a guide we try to sell 5 and 6 year old broken horses at around £3,000 depending on age, experience and potential.

We usually have a selection of horses in training at any one time, some of which are for sale.  If you are interested please contact us for further details.  You are welcome to e-mail us or please just give us a call.
